Take Action

Finding solutions to our mobility challenges is going to require action on all of our parts.  From area CEOs and state and local elected officials to civic and business groups and citizens representing all corners of our growing region, we must come together with a common voice and vision.

1. SH 183 Resolution 
The DRMC Executive Committee formally established the SH 183 Stakeholders Coalition on January 20, 2011, to seek the improvement, rehabilitation and enhancement of SH 183 from SH 161 to IH 35E through innovative financing options, including public-private partnerships.

Please encourage your cities, counties and affected businesses to take action today and adopt the resolution supporting this endeavor.

2. IH-35E Resolution 
The DRMC Executive Committee formally established the IH-35E Stakeholders Coalition last summer to coalesce support for the much-needed expansion of IH-35E between Dallas and Denton. The coalition is advocating for this project due to growing concerns over roadway congestion, potentially catastrophic accidents and deterioration of the infrastructure.

Please encourage your cities, counties and affected businesses to take action today and adopt the resolution supporting this endeavor.

Here are some ways that you can get involved:

Attend our monthly meetings.  The Coalition meets the first Friday of every month at 11:00 a.m., at the North Texas Tollway Authority Headquarters, Board Room, 5900 Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093.  Each month we review and discuss a range of topics, including the status of specific transportation projects, funding mechanisms, legislative priorities and trends.

Voice your opinion to your legislators.  Our state and federal officials need to hear from all of us that transportation must be our region’s top priority.  Without effective and efficient transportation options, development will stagnate, residents and businesses will leave the region and our local economies will suffer, which will have serious consequences for our quality of life.
